How To Clean A Mattress
It’s learning how to clean a mattress that is important if you want better hygiene. Many of us undermine
the importance of mattress cleaning or simply live with the illusion that the mattress that we sleep on is clean enough. But little do we realize that an unkempt mattress signifies a poor level of health and hygiene. It is impossible to avoid stains and odors on mattresses especially if we have small children and pets around. This is because both children as well as pets are unpredictable bed wetters. In addition to this, occasional tea and cola spills are also inevitable on a mattress. In due time these stains and spills keep accumulating on the mattress giving birth to an intolerable odor. Moreover liquid spills also penetrate deep inside the mattress material causing it to deteriorate by giving rise to moulds.

How to clean mattress in the traditional way: -The traditional method of cleaning mattress involves the use of dish soap and water. This not only cuts through the grease and stains but also helps in removing the odor to some extent. However we should be careful enough to avoid using excess water while cleaning because there are chances that the water might be soaked up by the mattress. Once the stain in removed we can leave the mattress to dry on its own by opening the windows or we can also use a hair dryer for drying it up.

We can use citrus- based sprays on the stains and then blot it with a clean white cloth pressed firmly onto it. In order to remove cigarette odors you can sprinkle some baking soda on the mattress and leave it overnight. This will help by absorbing and neutralizing the odors.
